Free Art Walks in Denver

The largest art district in Denver. Kicking off your weekend at the Santa Fe Art District’s First Friday Art Walk is a fantastic way to begin the month. This typically quiet street transforms into a lively art hub each evening with access to numerous local establishments. Attendees can stroll through over 100 galleries, co-ops, and alley vendors, many of which are usually closed at this time. Held rain or shine on the first Friday of every month, this event attracts thousands who come to view and purchase works from local artists. Summer is particularly vibrant, with more of Santa Fe and surrounding streets becoming pedestrian-only.

The First Friday Art Walk runs from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, stretching from 13th Avenue to Alameda Avenue, and from Kalamath Street to Inca Street, with the majority of art set up between 5th and 11th Avenue. Parking can be challenging, so carpooling is advisable. Most parking is available on side streets or at certain paid lots. While some food trucks are present, numerous restaurants and bars in the district remain open, offering a variety of dining options as you explore. Dogs are welcome on the street, but it’s important to check with individual galleries about their pet policies before bringing your furry friend inside.
