Holiday Activities in Denver
The Downtown Denver Ice Rink, which officially opened on Thanksgiving, will be running all the way into February. Can't make it for Christmas? Well there's always New Years and MLK Day—this time frame gives even the most busy families a chance to get out and have some fun on the ice. The rink is located at 1601 Arapahoe Street in Denver. Do you have a competitive spirit? You can put your skills to the test with the Denver rink's broomball challenge. Much like hockey, the object of the game is to score more goals than the opponent. Goals are scored by hitting the ball into the opponent's net using a traditional broom or the more conventional paddle shape stick designed for the sport. The official games are going from January 3 to February 10. There are a limited number of game slots so register your team today!
Another great place to find outdoor activities this winter in Denver is December Delights at the Four Mile Historic Park. Beginning in the new year on January 2nd you can enjoy the Swallow Hill Snow Shows in the Grove, just one part of this great series of events. These small concerts will be going on every Friday night 7:30-9:30 PM. Their band line-ups change all the time, so make sure to check out their website for who you can expect to see. December Delights' events will be offering domes this year. They are cozy, while still keeping you in nature and socially-distanced. To accommodate differing party sizes, there will be several different dome sizes to choose from. They range from 2-person domes all the way up to 8.
