Firstly, let's take a look at Blue Mesa Reservoir. Set within the Curecanti National Recreation Area, this reservoir offers 96 miles of shoreline to explore. You can rent paddleboards from the Elk Creek or Lake Fork Marinas. Another excellent spot is Evergreen Lake, which provides a stunning backdrop for your paddleboarding experience. The Evergreen Park and Recreation District offers board rentals as well as a variety of events, including sunrise SUP yoga, nighttime paddling, and beginner clinics. Horsetooth Reservoir is another great location for paddleboarders of all skill levels. Paddleboarders can launch from Inlet Bay, South Bay, Satanka Cove, and the Sunrise Swim Beach. Paddle Board at The Comedy Overlook, within walking distance of Horsetooth, offers rentals and lessons.


Chatfield Reservoir is perfect for water recreationists, including water skiing, fishing, sailing, and paddleboarding. Paddleboarding is allowed in all bodies of water at Chatfield except the designated swim area. Dillon Reservoir is another great option, nestled between the towns of Silverthorne, Keystone, Frisco, and Breckenridge. Stand Up Paddle Colorado offers rentals for two-hour durations, and the Frisco Bay Marina also provides rentals. Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural lake, is a fantastic place for paddleboarding. You can rent paddleboards from the Grand Lake Marina and enjoy coffee, breakfast, and lunch at The Wake Coffee Shop located on the dock.
